THE FINNISH WATERWAY ASSOCIATION (FWA)
The Finnish Waterway Association was founded in 1981. The goals of the Association are promotion, development and appropriate use of waterway traffic and transport as well as its operating conditions in both the coast and inland waters of Finland.
THE WATERWAY DOES NOT WEAR OUT
The objective of the activities of the Finnish Waterway Association is to promote and develop the waterway traffic and transport, as well as the prerequisites for its operations, in both the coast and the inland waters, as a part of the whole transport network.
Our aim is to improve the competitiveness and attractiveness of our stakeholders by increasing the awareness of the environmental friendliness, business opportunities and cost-effectiveness of the waterway traffic and transport.
The vision of the Finnish Waterway Association is to be a well-known and valued trustee, promoter and expert in the field of waterway traffic and transport. We are involved in developing the prerequisites for cargo and passenger transport both nationally and internationally.
The Finnish Waterway Association wants to contribute to improving the state of the Finnish waterway network, equipment and stock, as well as transmission capacity so that waterway traffic and transport remains competitive and interesting in the future as well.
We collect, refine and deliver high-quality information to our members and stakeholders.
We maintain interaction with decision-makers on measures regarding promotion of waterway traffic and transportation in Finland and cooperate with other trusteeship organizations.
By networking internationally, our aim is to import and export good practices and operating models for waterway traffic and transportation.
